Excellent progress (the project has fully achieved its objectives and technical goals for the period and has even exceeded expectations).

The official review report from the European Commission states that:

“The project has achieved its main scientific and technological objectives. Most of the Deliverables are of excellent quality, mainly those related to software development and metadata definition. The overall impression of the project is excellent.

The planned objectives and milestones for this reporting period have been mostly achieved, with excellent scientific results. Adherence to the workplan is good in general. Risk management and IPR issues have been addressed in commendable detail.

It is worth mentioning how well the project has considered the comments from the first review and how correctly and systematically, when needed, have been applied.

DURAARK Showcase in the Digital Preservation Sustainability on the EU policy level workshop

The DURAARK project will take part in the Digital Preservation Sustainability on the EU Policy Level Workshop, London, United Kingdom, on 8th September 2014. This workshop is organized jointly by APARSEN and SCAPE.

The main objective of the workshop is to provide an overview of solutions to challenges within Digital Preservation Sustainability developed by current and past Digital Preservation research projects. The event brings together various EU projects/initiatives to present their solutions and approaches, and to find synergies between them. A special focus will lie on SCAPE (Scalable Preservation Environments), which will have its final project presentation at this event. As part of the workshop, DURAARK will display its prototypical tool that can be used to enrich geometric & semantic information, and, at the same time can co-op with the continuous evolution of web data and vocabularies.

DURAARK poster at the 10th “Building Day” at Jade University of Applied Sciences, Oldenburg – March 21st, 2014

Launched by the Jade University’s friends’ association in 2005, the “Building Day” conference aims at breaking new ground for interdepartmental cooperation between the economy and the university and at providing a forum for information and interchange on current developments. This year the event focuses on building information modeling. It addresses civil engineers, architects, prime contractors and facility managers as well as students.

Hedda Saemann of TIB (The German National Library of Science and Technology) will represent the DURAARK project with a poster.

GA meeting
