DURAARK Presentation at 3DOR

At this year’s EUROGRAPHICS Workshop on 3D Object Retrieval, Sebastian Ochmann presented our paper Towards the extraction of Hierarchical Building Descriptions from 3D Indoor Scans. The new approach extends the possibilities to enrich 3D point clouds scans with additional structure and metadata which facilitates long-term digital preservation of scanned buildings. The talk was received with great interest and led to multiple interesting discussions with co-researchers from the field of computer graphics. The exchange of ideas added new insight and perspectives on this challenging problem which eventually might lead to new ways of tackling it. Slides are available here.
